Thanksgiving has only been celebrated in my family for the past 16 years. It’s not that we didn’t have anything to be thankful for but we lived in Europe and Europeans don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. Why not? I have been asked this question too many times and I would always answer with a smile: brush up on your history, people! Since we moved to US this holiday became one of my favorites, not only because I have a good excuse to overeat. We have so many things to be thankful for and I truly believe that we should give thanks more than once a year and worldwide. To start the turkey season and finish the pumpkin season with a sweet treat I picked eight must try pumpkin desserts from my fellow bloggers. Pick one or even two sweet treats to adorn your Thanksgiving table. Oh, and don’t forget to always be thankful!

Start with a delicious breakfast Pumpkin Scones with Pumpkin Spice Icing from Simply Suzanne’s at Home. Warning: you will fall in love with them! Your kitchen will smell like sweet pumpkin and let’s face it – nothing screams Thanksgiving louder than pumpkin. Ok, maybe turkey is just a bit louder but we are talking desserts here. Focus, you guys!
Talented Marryann from Domestically Speaking shares this easy Crockpot Pumpkin Spice Dump Cake recipe. If you’re busy preparing the seven-course Thanksgiving menu you will love this time-saver. Set it and forget it! Serve this moist bread-pudding-like cake with a side of ice cream and you can thank Marryann later!
If you are self-disciplined, and thus much better than I am, and wish for a healthy on the go snack try these Soft-Baked Pumpkin Protein Bars by Taylor from Food Faith Fitness. A healthy and guilt free way to enjoy your holiday!
Cranberries are another staple on Thanksgiving table. But if you’re not keen on the sauce this Cranberry Pumpkin Upside Down Cake from Sarah behind The Gold Lining Girl is a must-have! Just look at those colors. So festive!
The three sisters from Fry Sauce and Grits had a brilliant idea to combine traditional pie with beloved by all chocolate for this Chocolate Ganache over a Fall Pumpkin Pie. Say whaa’? Why didn’t I think of that? And it is super easy to make!
Of course, Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without moist Pumpkin Spice Bread. Whether you’re taking it to the office to share or enjoying it alone with your evening tea or coffee this recipe is a keeper. Amy from Home Remedies knows exactly what comfort food is!
Believe it or not I am crazy about everything pumpkin but only during the pumpkin season. Any other time, no thanks! Weird, I know. My favorite thing to indulge is Roasted Pumpkin Ice Cream. Up until I found this recipe I would not so patiently wait for the Cold Stone Creamery or Dairy Queen seasonal signature pumpkin ice cream and blizzard. Behold, I can now make my own! If you feel like making your own ice cream is too much to handle, White on Rice Couple suggests to mix roasted pumpkin puree in your favorite vanilla ice cream. Who knew?
To finish off the 8 pumpkins I must share one of my own – Pumpkin Orange Chocolate Wrapped Cake. The vertical layers will catch everyone’s attention and combination of pumpkin, orange and chocolate flavor is one to beat. So, if you are invited to your boss’ house party or this is your first Thanksgiving at your in-laws, this is the cake to bring and make that good impression 😉
I’m drooling. Did I make you want to bake today?
Looking forward to connecting to you soon.
