One Pot Chicken Rice Dinner in 5 Easy Steps

Did you know you can make one pot chicken rice dinner from scratch in less than 20 minutes, following just 5 easy steps?

No doubt, you need more one pot dinners in your life like this easy Bosnian-style chicken and rice. This recipe is made all over the world with countless variations on the theme. Throw everything into one pot and call it a day. What’s not to like?

One Pot Chicken Rice Dinner in 5 Easy Steps

It seems like life is getting busier by the day. I swear I had more time on my hands when my daughter was living in the house and it’s not because she was helping with chores … because she didn’t. So, being a busy grandma nowadays, I’m really all about easy yet still delicious meals. I’m like those Germans who love their 20-minute meals.

Also, these quick one-pot dishes are especially favorable when they can stretch to feed a crowd. Stretching meals such as this can come in really handy sometimes. In Bosnian culture, it is acceptable to drop by unannounced and, as every good host would do, we share our dinner with our unexpected guests. So you would throw extra rice in here and have ample food. Another awesome stretchy dish made in one pot is No Stir Bosnian Pot aka Bosanski Lonac. Same here, just add more potatoes or cabbage. More importantly, note that you never have to add more meat, but you can if you don’t need to be frugal.

How to make one pot chicken rice dinner?

The simple combination of chicken and rice mixed with vegetables requires no kitchen skills. Trust me, it’s that easy to make!

The best part?

It cooks in less than 20 minutes. Raise your hand if you want a delicious homemade dinner on the table that didn’t take hours to make! [raises hand] Best of all, imagine what you could do with the extra spare time since you won’t be spending all evening in your kitchen.

And even better:

Cooked in one pot there are almost no dirty dishes to speak of. That is why we love this easy chicken rice recipe, and you should too.

Ha, ha Melissa, you made my day. We all have those images of grandmas with gray hair, sitting in the rocking chair and knitting. I am fortunate to be a grandma at my age (51) while I have enough energy to horse around with my grandkids 🙂

That would work too, just not for Easter, LOL. I served rabbit for Easter one year when my daughter was little and the following year told her Easter was canceled because she ate the Easter bunny the year before. She was devastated. Poor thing, I think I scarred her for life. Easter blessings to you, Mrs. Shoes!
