35 St. Patrick’s Day Must-Haves
Kiss me, I’m
not Irish! But how fun it is to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, Irish or not! I probably won’t go out drinking because 1. I’m too old, easily buzzed and have to show up at work the next morning, and 2. I much rather stay home making all (well, almost all) of these 35 must have’s. That’s the truth and nothing but the truth.
So here’s the roundup of entrees, desserts, drinks, snacks and a few crafts. I’m grouping them by type, although they are still in random order – because I just can’t decide which I like the most. So, put your green on and if you have something special for St. Patrick’s Day, please do share with us! Share your link in the comments or visit our Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop and link up.
FOR EACH PETAL ON THE SHAMROCK
THIS BRINGS A WISH YOUR WAY
GOOD HEALTH, GOOD LUCK, AND HAPPINESS
FOR TODAY AND EVERY DAY!
Puppy Chow by Savings Lifestyle. A favorite snack for every day but these colors are just perfect for St. Paddy’s.
Shamrock Tortilla Chips by Spicedblog. How clever is this? Love it!
Irish Soda Bread by Melangery. Bread is my weakness…I’m Bosnian, after all!
Boxty with Bacon and Scallions by Edible Ireland. These potato cakes are perfect finger food.
Scotch Eggs (ok, almost Irish) by yours truly. An appetizer that will knock your socks off!
Pot of Gold Irish Potato Soup by Home is Where the Boat Is. Loving this bread bowl!
Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage by The Wilderness Wife. Now, that’s a tradition!
Caramelized Cabbage and Onions by Sweet C Designs. My husband doesn’t like cabbage (and he claims he’s Irish and German), but I’m making this anyways 🙂
Corned Beef and Cabbage Quesadillas by Family Fresh Meals. If you didn’t know what to do with leftovers, here’s your solution.
Chip Butty on Waterford Blaa by Lea and Jay. The name is puzzling but how genius is to put French fries on a bread roll, ha? Not just any bread roll, the Irish blaa! I’m hooked.
Green Goddess Sandwiches by The Bojon Gourmet are less likely to give you a heart attack. Fresh and crisp is how I like my vegetables.
Irish Colcannon by Simply Recipes. This is how you get your kids (and husbands) to eat their vegetables – in a mixture of mashed potatoes and cabbage or kale.
Guinness Irish Beef Stew by Season with Spice. Beef and beer sound good to me. It is still snowy here and this stew looks hearty enough to warm me up (plus some Irish booze).
The Ultimate Green Veggie Bowl by Food Mouth. It’s vegan and gluten-free and pretty green.
Another Green Goddess. Quinoa, avocado, peas and pistachio salad with coriander basil pesto by Journey Kitchen. This just screams EAT ME!
Pistachio Cheesecake by Lady Behind the Curtain. Lady, you’re killing me! Cheesecake is one of my favorites and I love pistachio too. I just want to go face down into this cake. Drooling…
Green Velvet Cheesecake by B Lovely Events. This list is just getting better and better. Who says velvet cake has to be red?
Creamy Lime Squares by Eat, Live, Run. I’ll take two servings, please. Don’t you just wanna dig in?
Princess Torte by Tartelette. Creamy and fluffy and beautiful. I absolutely adore her blog and her book Plate to Pixel is still my bible when it comes to food photography and styling.
Irish Apple Pie by Darina Allen. Simplicity at its best.
Leprechaun Trap Cake by Not Martha. I had to go with two photos on this one so you can see how cute it is! I want to trap leprechaun too!
Dark Chocolate Guinness Cake by Love Swah. Beer in the cake, Baylies on the cake…what more can you ask for?
Irish Dirt Cakes by Outnumbered 3 to 1. Nothing is dirty about these easy peasy cakes.
Plaid Cookies by The Decorated Cookie. Decorating sugar cookies is fun and I love the look of these.
Guinness and Baileys Jello Shots by Brit + Co. The best looking jello shots I’ve ever seen. Another beer and Baileys combo. What’s not to love?
Lime Sherbert Floats by Home Cooking Memories. Kids’ favorite but you don’t have to be a kid to love floats.
Shamrock Juice by Creative Juice. Look at that apple shamrock. Now, that’s creative!
Copycat Baileys Irish Cream by Yesterfood. Mmm…..baileys….bottoms up!
Irish Coffee by Happily Unprocessed. I think this coffee would cure my headache that I can’t get rid of today.
Matcha Mint Juleps by The Bojon Gourmet might not be Irish but it’s such a pretty green color and made with whiskey.
Sparkling Shamrock Cocktail by Pink Recipe Box. Well, if you’re a stickler for having an Irish drink on St. Paddy’s Day this one’s for you.
Lucky Leprechaun Hat Centerpiece by 21 Rosemary Lane. Absolutely lovely flower arrangement and a clever use of a planter.
Irish Blessing Free Printable by Five Heart home. I’m loving the frame (not included) and btw who doesn’t like free, right?
St. Patrick’s Day Printable by The 36th Avenue. Another freebie because we like options. Thank you!
St. Patty’s Day Activities and Traditions for Kids by Alisharenee in case you’re stuck at home with the little ones. Not sure if “St. Patty’s” was a typo or intentional but the ideas are great.
So there you have it, hope you’ll find a thing or two you’ll get excited about making. HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!
Looking forward to connecting to you soon.
