One thing my husband hates the most is when I’m taking photos with my cellphone while driving. To be fair, I hate when he’s trying to pry his phone out of his pocket while driving. So we’re even. Photography on the go is my favorite kind and I’m almost a pro in balancing the phone and steering-wheel at the same time. No worries, safety first! I have missed many good shots for that reason.
Photography On The Go
I’ve been so busy lately (don’t ask me with what…life, I guess) that I have neglected my other love – photography. I haven’t gone out with my camera for the sole purpose of photographing in ages. But, thanks to cellphones I still get to take, although not so great in quality, photos. They usually end up on my Instagram account and Facebook page.
Some were featured here few weeks ago.
Do you ever take photos while driving or walking?
Every time I take my dog out for a walk I see something worth photographing. So, let’s see what I have captured on the go, shall we?#Photography on the go - behind the scenes. Why you need Wyatt Earp #skills. Click To Tweet
This one is from a dog walk.
We she has pretty much the same route that she takes me (who is walking whom, right?). It was the right timing of the still rising sun that created these shadows. As my dog was pulling me along, I took few shots (just in case) and decided it looks best in monochrome.
Another one from our walk. The airplane was descending and was lower than it looks in the photo. There was not much color in the sky, thus this one is B&W also.
I was on the playground with my granddaughters when we heard geese squawking. They were flying right over our heads. Of course, you have to be quick to get a shot like this. Butch Cassidy and Wyatt Earp style. Get it out of your pocket, trigger, and shoot before too late! Yeah, I won this gunfight.
This was taken on a highway. It was pouring but then I saw a glimpse of sun behind the clouds. I mean, who wouldn’t want to photograph it? Sorry, husband!
Just another wet day in the city. I aimed for the clouds.
On my way to work. As traffic light turned red the sun peeked behind the clouds. Stop! Sun crossing!
Every time I travel north to the neighboring State I wish I could stop and photograph this barn. But the road is busy and I’m driving fast and there’s really no room to park. Ideally, I’d like to get it during sunset, but alas it faces east. 1. There is no public access to the east side and 2. I’m not driving an hour for a sunrise photo (how early would I have to get up?). So I have to be satisfied with a side shot from my car. Oh, well.
Speaking of side shots. Left or right, I can get a pretty decent shot. It’s just too bad that they never look as good as sees the eye. There were layers of heavy clouds and white clouds, and through it all rays of sun. It was a spectacular sight.
Speaking of layers…that’s exactly why I took this picture. I saw pretty, even layers.
A friend and I were driving into the sunset and stopped on the side of the road to capture it. The only problem was, as we got out of the car we got swarmed by mosquitoes. That was the fastest I got in a car ever. She carried few of those blood suckers in with her and by the time we got rid of them sun was almost gone. This photo through the dirty car window is all we got.
At the time I thought this was a good picture. I captioned it: let’s go listen to the night train.
This is my favorite! I’ll let you in on a little secret. My neighbors were redoing their driveway and cloud of dust covered their whole house. Another perfect timing of the rising sun as I drove by, but I wasn’t quick enough. So I drove around a block and made sure I get this glorious photo before it was too late.
I hope you enjoyed “behind the scenes” of my on the go photography. I’ve got many more to share if you’re interested. Let me know in the comments! Meanwhile you can browse through my other photos in the Photo Friday category.
My friend asked me to recommend a small camera. I am bias to Canon (not an affiliate) and got both of mine on Amazon long before I became an affiliate with them. They were birthday gifts as were my lenses. I carry the smaller one in my car for unexpected opportunities and where I don’t have to pull Wyatt Earp, lol. It is Power Shot with 50x zoom. Great for trips and also for beginners.
Amazon has great deals on bundles. You will need a carrier, memory card, and cleaning kit. Why pay for it separate and spend more? Check out both of these bundles.
