Mexican Hot Chocolate

I would be grateful if you shared this post ❤

This hot chocolate does not contain a Mexican and the ingredients are pretty basic, so I don’t know how it got its name. I picked up Nigella Lawson’s cookbook at the ReStore for $4.50 and it was money well spent. The things you find where you least expect them! Lucky for me, this was a good find. My hubby and I were all cozied up after one cup of this hot chocolate. The Kahlua in it brings instant heat.  Perfect for cold nights.

Serves two

2 cups whole Milk
6 tablespoons good Hot Chocolate mix (or two pouches)
¼ cup Kahlua
Pinch of Cinnamon
Whipped Cream from a can, optionalDirections:Heat the milk in a pan and make the hot chocolate according to package directions. Add the Kahlua and take off the heat before it boils.

Sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve with a topping of whipped cream (and a Mexican to make it more authentic, if you can find one).
