Thursday Favorite Things 193

I'll give you the sun - All that's Jas

Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things 193!

Some weeks are just OK and I have to think hard what my highlight was if there even was one. Yeah, I’m aware of the fact that being alive and healthy is a highlight in itself but my personality is not bubbly enough to look at life through rose-colored glasses all the time.

I admire people who are always like: puppies, butterflies, flowers! I’m more realistic and that is not always a plus.

Anyhow, this week I had no problems thinking about my favorite thing, in fact, there were more than just one but this one is easily the front-runner. My daughter’s family picture taken by a very talented photographer. I can’t wait to meet my newest granddaughter, but I have to be patient for another month 🙂

A second runner-up: today, my daughter Andrea and I are celebrating 17 – year anniversary of moving to this country. Why did we move and from where? You can read our short story here.

Third: this beautiful sunset on Lake Michigan. My husband is reaching for the sun because, you know, everybody can give you the stars. 😉

Hope your week was full of high points too!

I love realistic people; while optimists and pessimists fight if a glass is half full or half empty, realists are just quietly thinking to themself ‘isn’t it the same?’! Have a good upcoming weekend Jas

You are so right, Jasna! The important thing should be the fact that we have a glass and there’s something in it, preferably vodka, lol. Have a great weekend yourself and come back tomorrow for a giveaway! 🙂

What beautiful pictures Jas! That one of you and your husband in the sunset is awesome, and one I would definitely frame. Congrats on your soon-to-be newest granddaughter too! I know it’s hard to count our blessings sometimes, (I feel that way at times) but they are there, waiting for us to discover them. Enjoy the rest of your week! 🙂

Thank you, April! My husband said he wants that photo in his office so that (quoting) he can look at how cute we are every day, LOL. I know I have many blessing, it’s just that I forget to count them sometimes. What can I say?

Beautiful pictures of your daughter’s family and the sunset. And a beautifully written piece about why you left your native country. I can’t image going thru all that. Although it’s hard to imagine how these experiences make us better and stronger. They definitely do and they made you what you are today. Thank you so much for sharing.
