Thursday Favorite Things 195

I would be grateful if you shared this post ❤

Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things 195!

Happy summer! Hope yours is going to be a relaxing one, whether you’re going on a vacation or planning a staycation. Mine will be somewhat busy. A granddaughter due in a few weeks, a grandniece/nephew a month later, several birthdays to celebrate, home improvement projects to tackle, and a two-week trip back home. I’m going by myself this time and am just a little bit nervous about it.

I still find time to relax and do what I like. I find that photographing nature relieves stress. It is even better if you don’t have to leave the comfort of your chair in order to do that.

That is exactly how I took a photo of this Cooper’s hawk: from a chair in my sunroom. He’s been returning to our yard for few days in a row, causing all the smaller birds to squawk and mob the predator or to simply disappear.

This was my first time seeing a Cooper’s and in birding lingo that is called a lifer. Because of him, the barn swallows circled above our house – another lifer for me. Yay! I need to start a running list of all bird species I see. There are sooo many! I never knew how many different sparrows there are, not to mention the other birds.

Summer is always a busy time trying to get in everything you have on your honey do list and just for fun list. Photography of nature and wildlife is a super peaceful and relaxing activity almost as good as meditation and you take the most amazing photos it is relaxing for me to view too. Just a wee bit of humor for you. In local HK news that there has been loads of rain, mudslides, and of course wild boars near the local ParknShop by the grocery store just down the street. I am shocked that little guy is not in someones wok or hot pot yet. LOL

OMG, lol. Poor little boar, that would be tragic. Our breaking news is that there are black bears (a mom and her cub) spotted traveling across northern Indiana. Eek!
I’m glad you enjoy my photos! 🙂 I wish I knew how to meditate, but I’m easily distracted and can’t sit still.

Jas, your hawk is stunning. I can see where he would make the other birds nervous. I hope he is behaving himself! 🙂 And I hope you have a wonderful trip back home- I’m looking forward to pictures. 🙂 Thank you for the party!

It sounds like you certainly have a busy summer ahead of you. Congrats on your soon to be grandchild. Is it your first? You captured a beautiful shot of the hawk. I used to love hawks and how pretty they are, but after we had one help destroy our chicken flock, along with raccoon’s and foxes, I can’y stand them any more. 🙁 Thanks for hosting Jas, and have a great weekend.

You must be really excited with several newborns coming your way! And lots of things to keep you busy as well, I hope you find some time to wind down. Another beautiful birdie shot there. Visiting or there’s a nest nearby? And congratulations, Jas with the impending arrival of newborns in your family! 🙂
