Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things 203!
Mommy, my throat is up – said my 3-yo granddaughter this morning, happy that her voice is back. The poor baby has been sick for days, hasn’t spoken a word and just yesterday started to whisper. Her fever broke and we can finally relax a bit.
Having a virus in the home with a newborn is a scary thing. My son-in-law is often away on a business trip. My daughter is doing her best to run the household, nurture the sick child and protect the newborn.
Thankfully, she’s got a good support system from both sets of parents. No matter how busy or tired and sleep deprived you are yourself, you get into the super-woman-warrior-mom mode when your child needs you. If you have a child (no matter how old) you know what I’m talking about. It is bad that the poor child is sick, but it is good being needed.
That brings me to my favorite thing, which is this necklace. It was a Mother’s Day gift from my daughter, I believe two years ago (I’m old and forgetful). It was the perfect gift and it is still my favorite. If you haven’t met me yet, in person or through my blog, those four items in the pendant summarize what I am all about.
