Mustard can be an acquired taste for many people. For those who like to have their sinuses cleared with each bite of food, there’s spicy brown, deli-style mustard. For anyone attempting to make the transition, or who don’t want to take in multiple glasses of water throughout their meal, there’s honey mustard.

Honey mustard is one of those beautiful combinations of flavors that you would not expect to be a match made in heaven. Yet, here we are, an unexpected marriage of spice and the beautiful sweetness of honey.

The honey mustard dipping sauce is the superior choice for chicken tenders; however, this honey mustard glaze is a little more sophisticated. It deserves something a little more than fried chicken. Salmon will do the trick.

Salmon is a great fish because it’s already so flavorful without any marinade or glaze. It’s a sturdy fish, so there are a variety of cooking methods that it can hold its integrity to.

You do need to pay special attention to salmon when it’s cooking, however, because it can overcook so easily and will dry out very quickly.

Make sure to keep your eye on it while it’s in the oven, as it will be done when the center is opaque, or it starts flaking. That extra TLC will be well worth it when you take that first bite.

Salmon is also an incredibly healthy addition to your diet. A 4-ounce serving provides a full daily value of vitamin D and is an excellent source of Vitamin B6, niacin, potassium, and magnesium as well as 30 grams of protein and omega-3 fatty acids. 🐟

The American Heart Association recommends that an individual eat two servings of fish per week, due to these fatty acids. Doing so may reduce the risk of blood clots, heart disease, and stroke.

Filet or Fillet?

Filet and fillet are alternative spellings of a word that means a boneless cut of meat. Where fillet is the more general term, the filet is usually reserved for French cuisine.

A couple of my favorite things are cheesecakes and dinners that take less than 30 minutes. This is certainly not cheesecake, but it is an absolutely delicious recipe that you can make as a quick dinner any night of the week. The salmon itself only needs 4 ingredients and the whole meal takes approximately 15 minutes to make.

I even managed to make butternut squash noodles in butter-sage sauce and blanch asparagus while the fish was cooking. It’ll make you the ultimate multi-tasker! 💪

You will absolutely love asparagus with this salmon filet as it complements the honey mustard glaze, but feel free to cook any other vegetable as your side. I recommend other greens, such as broccoli or spinach.

And if butternut squash isn’t your thing, feel free to use your favorite rice or at least something to help you soak up the glaze like gnocchi. Or, you can lick your plate. With a recipe like this, no one will judge you for doing so.

People are always quick to order seafood while they’re out at a restaurant, but seem to hesitate to make it themselves at home. Once you make this recipe, you’ll understand why there’s not a reason to be intimidated by preparing your own delicious seafood recipe. I bet this recipe will make it into your menu rotation often!
